Towel Day is an annual celebration on the 25th of May, as a tribute to the late author Douglas Adams (1952-2001). On that day, fans around the universe proudly carry a towel in his honour.

HEUTE in AACHEN:

Aachen, near the Dutch and Belgian border, is another place where hitchhikers can head. At 19:42 there'll be a gathering at the fountain on the market place (N 50° 46.581 E 006° 05.020) near the Dom. Participants are expected to carry towels and the bold may wear dressing gowns. A 42 will be formed with towels or people, and pictures will be taken.
